Website Costs in Nigeria: How to Compare a Quote
Compare website quotes by scope, ongoing costs, content, payments and ownership, with Mike Accolade's own published package prices as examples.
The practical answer
A website quote is useful when it names the pages, customer actions, integrations, ongoing bills and handover. Mike's published packages are his own offers, not Nigerian market averages; compare the actual scope before comparing totals.
In this guide
Start with a price tied to a clear scope
A business website in Nigeria does not have one standard price. A three-page service site, a store with product variants and a customer portal involve different work. The most useful first question is what the visitor must be able to do, followed by what the business needs to manage after launch.
As of 31 October 2026, my published website packages are Starter at ₦100,000 to ₦200,000, Growth at ₦250,000 to ₦450,000, and Pro at ₦500,000 to ₦800,000+. Each range covers a different scope. Compare the inclusions below with the work your business actually needs.
Understand what the package is buying
Starter covers one to three pages for service businesses and personal brands, with offer copy, mobile and desktop design, basic brand styling, a lead capture or WhatsApp contact path, basic SEO setup and 30 days of maintenance. That can suit a consultant who needs visitors to understand a service and request a conversation.
Growth adds a password-protected admin area, content and image editing, payment integration, fuller brand direction and 60 days of maintenance. Pro adds custom AI agent integration, advanced payment workflows and business process connections, with 90 days of maintenance. The agreed proposal should translate those headings into the exact features required for the project.
Look beyond the number of pages
Page count is only one part of effort. A contact page with business details is different from a booking page that checks availability, takes a deposit, emails a confirmation and lets staff reschedule. A store's product count, variations, delivery rules and payment states can matter more than its top-level navigation.
Ask for a written list of customer actions and admin actions. For example: a buyer selects a size, checks the delivery fee, pays and receives an order reference; a staff member updates stock and marks the order dispatched. Each action needs a clear end state and a decision about who supplies its information.
Separate the build from ongoing bills
Request a breakdown of the build fee and recurring costs. Establish who pays for the domain, hosting, business email, paid plugins, payment provider charges and any AI or automation usage. Ask which subscriptions are required at launch, which are optional and whose account will receive renewal notices.
Maintenance also needs a definition. Bug fixes, content edits, security updates and new features are different tasks. Confirm the included support period, how issues are reported and what happens when that period ends. A clear renewal arrangement is easier to plan around than an undefined promise of lifetime support.
Make performance and discovery deliverables concrete
Google's SEO Starter Guide explains that following its guidance does not automatically produce a first-place ranking. Treat SEO setup as a list of work: useful page titles, understandable content, working links and checks that important pages can be discovered. Ask what will be delivered and how it will be reviewed.
Google also says its normal SEO fundamentals remain relevant to AI Overviews and AI Mode, with no special additional optimization required. An AI discovery line in a quote should therefore describe actual work rather than promise recommendations. For performance, agree which pages, devices and loading conditions will be checked; web.dev's performance-budget guidance provides a useful way to set explicit limits.
Compare proposals using the same example
Consider a hypothetical event planner. The first version may need a home page, service details, approved project photographs and an enquiry form. If booking remains a conversation, a payment dashboard might add cost without solving the immediate problem. If deposits are the main bottleneck, the payment flow belongs in the brief from the beginning.
Send that same brief to each provider. Compare content responsibility, integrations, revision rounds, testing, handover, exclusions and recurring costs alongside the total. Ask how a new request changes the price and schedule. A cheaper proposal with a different scope is a different offer, so resolve the differences before making a decision.
Prepare for a useful quote conversation
Bring the main business goal, target customer, required pages, payment needs, existing tools, available content and a realistic budget range. The business website brief guide helps organize those inputs. Name the person who can approve copy and design. If a launch date is fixed, explain the business reason and identify any material that is still missing.
Compare my current inclusions on the website packages page, then send the brief. The aim is to agree a useful first release with visible costs and responsibilities, followed by optional improvements that can be priced separately.
